The NTC is inviting application from qualified candidates who wish to be considered for employment on contract for one year, renewable upon satisfactory performance.

A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or Passes in at least two  subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced level’.

 

A degree in Management or Economics from a recognized institution.

OR

 

Equivalent qualifications to A and B above acceptable to the Board.

 

Candidates should also:

 

(i)                 be a MQA registered trainer with at least two years’ training/teaching experience in the management/ vocational field;

 

(ii)               be computer literate; and

(iii)             have good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Experience in the field of training would be an advantage.

Note

Qualification at A above should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above.  However, candidates who do not possess the qualification at A above, will also be considered provided they hold:-

 

(a)               a Cambridge School Certificate or Passes obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board; and

 

(b)               a Master’s Degree or a postgraduate diploma from a recognised institution in one of the fields at B above or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.

 

Qualification (a) under ‘Note’ should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above and at (b) under ‘Note’.

 

Candidates should produce written evidence of experience/knowledge  claimed.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

To be responsible for capacity building and training and to ensure the effective and efficient coordination, implementation and monitoring of training policies and programmes for the National Transport Corporation (NTC).

Duties:

1.                  To be responsible to the Human Resource Manager in the performance of the following duties –

(i)           establishing and implementing the annual training programme for the NTC;

(ii)         ensuring that programmes delivered are consistently evaluated, reviewed and updated according to needs and are in line with the overall national plans;

(iii)       liaising with the appropriate examining bodies to arrange for/conduct examinations/tests;

(iv)       maintaining high quality and proper standards of training;

(v)         participating in the selection of trainers;

(vi)       ensuring that trainers deliver courses as per established curricula.

2.         To keep abreast of new techniques and development in the             relevant field.

3.         To act as trainer.

4.         To assist in the organisation of events.

5.         To manage the website of the NTC.

6.         To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Programme/Training Officer in the roles ascribed to him.
